I had this big idea that on our last visit to Huntsville we would photograph Lucy in the downtown area – the part of town where I grew up. I thought about how I would take her to my old little hang outs on Randolph and East Clinton Avenues and somehow capture things that I wish I had photographed when I lived there. Sounds lovely. But then a funny thing happened. It was freaking HOT. Sweaty, sweaty, uncomfortably hot. And it was only 10:30 in the morning. So with our friend Caroline in tow, we settled for just spending a little time in a cool alleyway until Lucy could tolerate no more.

We couldn’t leave downtown without at least 2 minutes in Big Spring Park so Kevin and Caroline could thoroughly express their love for one another in photos. What’s missing? In all the sweaty ridiculousness I forgot to get a picture of me and Caroline. BFF FAIL! I’ll have to make up for it at the beach with her in two short weeks. Then you won’t even remember what life was like without 100 photos of Caroline and I! Take that, Internet!

I swear on my next trip I will take pictures of my hometown properly. In the Fall. At a maximum of 82 degrees.
